Thatch is where grass roots grow back towards the surface in search of water and nutrition, and die. This develops a thick thatch, and moss and weeds take over.
The lawn scarifier tears away the thatch and opens up the soil for water and nutrients to feed new grass growth. Support this with applications of lime and lawn fertiliser.
