Compact plants that produce very firm and dense medium sized ball-headed cabbages through the summer. Has good flavour.
Sowing Instructions
Sow indoors, February to March. Outdoors, March to May.
Indoors, in trays of seed compost. Sow thinly, cover with 1.5cm (0.5") of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover tray with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx 13 degrees C (55 degrees F). Seedlings appear 7-21 days.
Care Instructions
Indoors,remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant 5cm (2") apart in trays. Stand outside for a few days April to May (avoid frosts). Transplant in April to May to final positions with 45cm (18") between plants and rows.
Outdoors, when 7.5-10cm (3-4") tall transplant into final position with 45cm (18") between plants and rows. Firm plants in well.
Harvesting Instructions
July to October. Avoid diseases such as club root by rotating crops early.
