How to Plant Crocus Bulbs
An area of your garden which gets a lot of direct sunlight is best for planting crocuses but any area which is not heavily shadowed will be fine. Plant either 5cm or 8cm deep in the ground depending on the variety and water once then not again until spring unless the autumn is very dry.
When to Plant Crocus Bulbs
Crocus bulbs should be planted in autumn before the first frost makes the ground hard. The bulbs should be planted in clusters with a few inches in between each bulb as crocus flowers look best in groups to make them look more prominent. Flowers usually appear between February and April, but this depends on the variety of crocus you are planting.
