It has 3 trays and one tray to catch the water, which you must not overfill (unless you want a flood!) and must empty (best to do it before next watering). It is simple, which is good on the one hand. However you cannot leave for a weekend & come back expecting sprouts! You must remember to water them regularly and not place them in direct sunlight (windows magnify the heat and of course they can dry out). It does show slight chipping at the edges, through use and being placed in the dishwasher. I think for a starting sprouter, it is good value for money.
