This is a French hierloom variety which had long been sold in the markets of Paris and used to produce small, crisp pickled 'cornichon' gherkin. It is sometimes added as a seasoning to the classic dish of steak tartare but is more commonly served with cold meats and terrines. Each plant produces numerous fruits that are harvested at approx. 2.5cm (1in) long.
Easy to grow, slender dark green fruits, pick when up to 10cm (4in) long. Early-fruiting, trailing variety with high yields for outdoor crops. Has good resistance to Cucumber Mosaic Virus.
