The Kamado Joe Heat Deflector must be used with the Pizza Stone to avoid burning the pizza.

Your Pizza Stone will darken with use, and is completely normal for this products. The Kamado Joe heat defector must be used to avoid burning the pizza. Cleaning solutions should not be used, as they will be absorbed into the stone.
