The unpacked bench proved less substantial than expected. We noted that the finish was rather poor with chipped ends to some of the timbers. Two of the seat supports had become detached from the frame because they were held with short screws rather than nuts and bolts: this is really not satisfactory from a safety point of view. On assembly the impression of rather poor quality materials was confirmed. The machine bo;ts were too short to secure one side to the rear because the joint for the parts had not been correctly machined and the heads of the screws were too soft so that the Allen key ceased to work making it impossible properly to tighten the joint. We spent two hours trying, in vain, to assemble the bench. I shall have to buy some better quality screws and bolts and do some work with my power drill in order to get it assembled. In my view then it is a poorly designed, poorly made product. Unfortunately, because of a house move and holidays it is much more than 28 days since ieved it. Otherwise I would have retiurned it.
