	Basically, the RSH 2455 is not a shredder, but a chipper - and even then it just doesnt work. Ignore comments about the adjustment of the cutters or isolated problems, it is just a bad design, period. The rotating cutter-wheel should produce chips the same length as the gap between the blades (5cm)- which is nothing like the finely divided material you want from a shredder. However, most of the time the machine just puts notches in the stems as they pass through, without chopping them up - useless. (The wheel is offset to one side so it can clear itself in reverse, not a manufacturing fault.) The most charitable thing I can say is that the RSH 2455 is sturdy, quiet, and the autofeed works well, but it is utterly useless as a shredder.

	concur with Mark and norman. purchased RSH 2455 shrededder/mulcher from local B&Q. followed adjusting instruction exactly,twice, without sucess, cutting cannot be achieved, cuts about 3 inch lengths but not sheared through.will constantly not feed. or only passes solid dry sticks but leaves, sticks and green stuff in feeding funnel,you can imagine trying to remove same.

	Read Normans review and dismissed it as a one off fault and purchased one anyway. Wish Id listened to his review. Mine did exactly the same as his, even after adjusting cutting edge as described in instructions. Cuts 1-2inch pieces, if it cuts all the way through at all. Got RYOBI ESR 2240 now and its brilliant and cheaper!

	This shredder has blades mounted on a rotating drum. The blades press against an adjustable plate with the branches etc pulled down between the blades and the plate. The blades should cut the branches while the small gaps betwen the blades should crush. Unfortunately the drum holding the blades on my machine is lopsided and so branches are only cut once per revolution. For the rest of the time it merely makes partial cuts. Thus you end up with 6 - 7 inch lengths of notched branch which is not very satisfactory. If only the manufacturing process were ok we would have a good shredder, as it is with shoddy manufacture some shredders will work while others, like mine, are very poor.
