| I purchased this product primarily to spread Lawn Sand which I used to do by hand "A rather tedious job and backbreaking". I have used it once so far and am pleased with the results, it also took a fraction of the time, delivered an even spread and more importantly saved me hours bent over! |

| Good even spread. Good for price but would be better if more substantially made - split pins very flimsy. Have to take apart to clean after every use, but no hardship. |

| Less backbreaking than using a hand spreader.
First time use left stipes & patches of untreated lawn - not sure if this was me or the spreader. |

| This is generally a good spreader with easy control of fertiliser or grass seed spread and a good sized hoper. However, can Scotts come up with a spreader that will disperse feed or seed to the very edge of the lawn? Like all other spreaders this unit still leaves a 50-60mm strip at the lawn edge untreated and that has to be hand spread. |

| having modified the feed, this product is excellent for spreading salt and grit. much cheaper than the custom made products.the mod is simple and involves cutting open the dispenser slot. |

I had the same problem as Peter D., but Im fairly sure its because I didnt clean off the congealed remnants of last years lawn feed - hence it got jammed and the spring broke.
However, I contacted Garden4Less to ask for contact details of the manufacturer. They in turn sent me a new spring, which was reasonably easy to fit. Good customer service all round!
Im quite sure the spreader will be completely reliable now I know that the lawn feed granules tend to absorb moisture, clump into a paste and then solidify. Ill be hosing it off after use from now on (and to be fair I think it tells you to do that in the instructions). |
