Sowing Instructions

Sow outdoors, February to April. Where they are to crop, 5cm (2") deep directly into finely prepared soil which has already been watered. Allow 30cm (12") between seeds. A double row 60cm (2ft) apart makes best use of space. Seedling usually appear in 10-18 days. Early and late sowings benefit from cloche protection. Water well until plants are established, to make an easy and late sowing for a longer harvest.

Sow indoors, February to May. 2.5cm (1") deep into individual pots of compost. Water well and place in a warm position. A temperature of 15-20 degrees C (60-68 degrees F) is ideal. Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out 30cm (12") apart.
