Product Information
An Italian favorite but also widely eaten around the mediterranean where its tangy, slightly bitter flavour is much appreciated. As the round heads mature they develop their beautiful red colouration.
Sowing Instructions
Sow outdoors, May to August. Thinly where they are to crop, 1.5cm (0.5") deep, directly into finely prepared soil which has already been watered. Allow 25cm (10") between rows. Early sowings may benefit from cloche protection. Seedlings usually appear in 7-14 days. Thin out to 20cm (8") apart. No thinning is necessary if only baby leaf leaves are required. Water well until plants are established. Regular sowings made every 2 to 3 weeks will ensure a continuous supply.
