Product Information
An Asian delicacy grown not for its root but for its high yields of juicy green pods. Introduced to England in 1815 it caused great excitement and was favoured by royalty. Easy to grow, the raw pods have a strong but refined radish flavour which mellows upon cooking. Use in salads, curries and stir-fries.
Sowing Instructions
Sow outdoors, April to July. Thinly where they are to crop, 1.5cm (0.5") deep directly into finely prepared soil which has already been watered. Allow 45cm (18") between rows. Seedlings usually appear within 7-21 days. Water well until plants are established. Thin out to 30cm (12") apart. 2 or 3 successive sowings will ensure a continuous supply. Harvest when pods are up to 15cm (6") long.
