Product Information
A mild salad onion which becomes increasingly pungent as the bulbs mature, can be used at any stage. Often roasted on skewers to retain its unusual 'bottle' shape.
Sowing Instructions
Sow outdoors, February to June. Thinly where they are to crop, 1.5cm (0.5") deep directly into finely prepared soil which has been watered. Allow 15cm (6") between rows. Early sowings may benefit from cloche protection. Seedlings usually appear in 14-21 days.
For spring onions. No thinning is required, but keep well watered during dry spells. Regular sowings made every 2-3 weeks will ensure a continuous supply through the summer.
For bulb onions. Sow no later than April. Thin seedlings to 8cm (3") apart. Harvest from July onwards.
