Product Information

Spectacular flower heads appear to be floating on long, slender stems above lush clumps of strap-like leaves. Blooms appear in shades of blue and the occasional white, for sunny borders or large patio pots.

Sowing Instructions

Sow indoors, February to May in pots or trays of moist compost. Cover lightly with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover pots with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at 13-15 degrees C (55-60 degrees F).

Care Instructions

Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough to handle transplant to individual 7.5cm (3") pots. Grow on in a cold frame or cool greenhouse. Stand outside for a few days to acclimatise the following May (avoid frosts). Transplant 35cm (14") apart in flowering position or into large patio pots. A liquid feed in late spring may be beneficial.

Flowers

June to October, plants may take 1 or 2 years to establish. Plants are generally considered hardy to -15 degrees C (5 degrees F) in colder areas a winter mulch will protect plants.
