A real talking point for warm conservatories or the greenhouse and an unusual cutflower.Sowing InstructionsSow indoors, All year round, in pots or trays of seed compost. For best results soak seed for 24 hours prior to sowing, then remove orange 'tufts'. Sow thinly, cover with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid and keep at approx 25 degrees C (77 degrees F). Germination may be erratic. Seedlings appear in 1-6 months.Care InstructionsRemove individual seedlings as they appear. Transplant individual seedlings tinto 7.5cm (3") pots. Grow on and transplant to larger pots as necessary. Water sparingly, only when compost is dry. Plants can be placed on a sheltered patio in summer but will not survive temperatures below 10 degrees C (50 degrees F). It will take several years for plants to mature to flowering. A liquid feed is recommended once a fortnight in summer months.FlowersMature plants flower in April to July.
