Product Information
Alpine strawberries are renowned for the exquisite flavour of their small berries. These compact, bushy plants produce very few runners and are ideal for containers, hanging baskets and borders.
Sowing Instructions
Sow indoors, January to April. In pots or trays of moist compost. Sow thinly, cover with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently, cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx 15-20 degrees C (60-68 degrees F).
Care Instructions
Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant singly to 10cm (4") pots of compost with as little root disturbance as possible. Keep at approx 15 degrees C (60 degrees F). Stand outside for a few days late May (avoid frosts) and then plant out to growing position. Transplant to minimum 25cm (10") apart, or to containers. Keep well watered.
Harvesting Instructions
Septemeber to October the first year, then July to October in following years.
