Product Information
Popular herb and an excellent choice for any kitchen garden. Has a mild aniseed flavour and can be used in all manner of dishes. Great in traditional Mediterranean dishes, classic with tomatoes.
Sowing Instructions
Sow indoors, March to April for outdoor crops, or all year round for pots indoors. In pots or trays of moist compost. Sow thinly, cover lightly with compost and firm gently. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx 15-20 degrees C (60-68 degrees F), keep moist.
Sow outdoors, May to June, in a prepared seed bed in growing position. Sow thinly and cover with fine soil.
Care Instructions
For indoor sowing, remove cover once seedlings appear. Thin plants to further pots or trays if necessary. If planting outside, stand outside for a few days late May (avoid frosts), then transplant to growing position. If indoor plants are required, transplant seedlings into 15cm (6") pots of compost and place in a light, airy position.
For outdoor sowing, when seedlings are large enough thin to 20cm (8") apart.
Harvesting Instructions
Pick leaves as required, from indoor plants all year round. July onwards for outdoor sowings.
