Product Information
Easy and fast growing leaf vegetable that is slow to bolt. Widely used in many Asian dishes, the baby leaves can be used in salads and mature hotter leaves as a substitute for spinach.
Sowing Instructions
Sow outdoors, March to September. In a prepared seed bed. Sow thinly in rows 30cm (12"). Cover with 1.5cm (0.5") of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. For continuous crops sow every 2-3 weeks.
Care Instructions
When large enough thin to 5cm (2") apart for baby leaf or for more mature plants thin to a final spacing of 20cm (8"). Protect early and late sowings with cloches to extend the harvesting period. Keep moist and weed free.
Harvesting Instructions
April to November. For individual baby leaves pick as required, a few from each plant. They will regrow for 2-3 cuts. Harvest mature plants when they have developed.
