Product Information
Classic pumpkin used in pies, it has sweet orange flesh which cooks beautifully. Fruits are approx. 2kg/4.5lb, an ideal size for culinary use. Carve some for Halloween and use the flesh in soup.
Sowing Instructions
Sow indoors, April to May. In small pots of moist compost. Sow singularly into a pot edgeways. Cover lightly with compost. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx, 18-21 degrees C (65-70 degrees F).
Sow outdoors in May. In a prepared seed bed in the growing position. Sow 2 seeds per position and space 1.2m (4ft) apart. Cover lightly with soil. Firm gently and keep moist.
Care Instructions
For indoor sowing remove cover when seedlings appear. At 5-6 leaf stage, stand outside for a few days late May (avoid frosts). Transplant 1.2m (4ft) in growing position. Keep moist and weed free.
For outdoor sowing. When large enough thin to 1 seedling per position. Keep moist and weed free.
Harvesting Instructions
September to November, or until the first frosts. May be stored for several weeks in a cool, dry, frost free location.
