Trends for 2025: New colour palettes

  • Post created by: Victoria S.

This year has seen an array of fresh new colourways launched by garden furniture makers, to brighten up the market. From pewter to oatmeal, almond and pebble, many lighter shades are emerging to replace the dominant dark grey of the past few years.

Weave: tradition updated with new colour twists

Hartman and Kettler have updated their traditional weave sets with new cushion colourways, from light neutrals to contrasting darker tones. Traditional natural weave tones mix with light cushions on Hartman's new Eton range, while its new Rayo line changes tack with a striking bucket shaped brown weave and dark grey cushions. Kettler, meanwhile, has launched the Durban with a modern brown weave frame and soft cream cushions, for a refreshing take on a traditional weave set.

Metal: lighter toned cushions on colourful frames

Metal garden furniture, meanwhile, has been updated with lighter toned cushions on neutral frames. Hartman's metal framed new ranges stick with the lighter colourway trend, with oatmeal (Ezra), wheatgrass (Buxton), platinum (Orion) and pewter (Rio) to name a few. Kettler, meanwhile, has incorporated a Pebble grey colourway across many of its new ranges, including Marina and Como, making mix and match across ranges possible. Finally, LG has introduced a new sage green framed range, the Tuscany, alongside its other new metal framed sets, including light brown tones (Sorrento) and platinum (Capri), for a colourful set of options.

Rope: soft creams blend with metal grey or wood toned frames

The emerging trend for rope backed garden furniture has seen more cream based colourways emerge, with Hartman's Aries, Tierra and Portico, embracing cream rope chair backs, alongside Kettler's Naples and Trento ranges. Some of these have real wood (Naples) or faux wood frames (Portico), while others have more traditional grey metal frames (Aries, Panama) for a modern finish.

Wood: brown wood grain complimented with soft grey tones

Wooden garden furniture is becoming more popular, embracing the beautiful brown tones of this natural product. Kettler's Freeport range, fro example, has a stand out wood teak frame, with dark grey weave seat backs and light grey seat backs, to compliment the wood perfectly.
Expect to see lighter tones and palettes continue to rise in popularity in garden furniture, as the movement away from grey rises apace.
