One of the best well known types, this reliable globe variety has an attractive bright red colour with a white tip. High yielding with very crisp texture and peppery flavour.

A 'Sparkler' type of summer radish producing round, red-skinned roots with a white splash at the root end. Mild, crisp, white flesh which may show some pink tinge, and free from pithiness. Suitable for earlier sowings under glass as well as outdoors. Resists bolting.

A traditional type of large Chinese radish, popularly used in oriental stir-fries and salads. It is known in China as the 'Beauty Heart' Radish because of its attractive pink flesh which has a sweet, slightly nutty taste. Unusually the flavour becomes more delicate as the roots mature.

An Asian delicacy grown not for its root but for its high yields of juicy green pods. Introduced to England in 1815 it caused great excitement and was favoured by royalty. Easy to grow, the raw pods have a strong but refined radish flavour which mellows upon cooking. Use in salads, curries and stir-fries.

An exceptionally flamboyant and vividly coloured radish with crisp, firm flesh and long tapering roots that store well once lifted, lasting into winter. Perfect for colourful salads it is also used as an appetiser and is often served as an accompaniment to beer in Germany.
