Mains Powered or Battery Powered?

Many of our garden powertools present the customer with a mains and a battery powered option. Both are great and choosing between the two can sometimes be difficult.

Some things you should think about are:
- How big is my garden/the area which the tool will be used for?
- What shape is the area that needs to be worked on? - Is there a power supply close to where the work needs to be carried out?
- How long do I expect to be using the tool for any one period of time?
Depending on the tool, there could be other things you may want to consider.

For slightly larger gardens, a cordless battery powered tool can be a good option to avoid trailing cables across your lawn or patio. These can often ruin flowerbeds if dragged through them or pose potential trip hazards for you and others around. However, if you have a HUGE garden, you should also consider buying an extra battery for your tool just incase one runs out half way through a job. The main advantage of a plug-in tool is that the risk of running out of power is no longer present, however you may need to use extension leads for the areas that are far away from a power point.

If you are unsure about which tool best suited to your needs, call us to speak with an expert who will be able to answer any questions you have.
